The vision: a new tourist destination on Toronto’s west side
A mix of art galleries, studios, event spaces, and other creative businesses next door to restaurants and cafes in a pleasant, conveniently walkable area centered around the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art.
Small parks full of approachable public art and child-friendly play structures create a fun experience for the whole family
Public space
Wider sidewalks and better pedestrian connections between the different parts of the district. Add underground off-screet parking to free up pedestrian space.
Public art
Use public art to turn the entire district into an engaging experience.
New indoor hub
Better integrate 213 Strerling Road into the neighborhood by creating an indoor space to bridge the gap between the galleries to the north and south as well as open up the building itself for more entertainment and arts space
Pedestrian connection across Barrie Line to St. Helens
The Junction Triangle GO Station provides an opportunity to use the new pedestrian tunnel to connect the gallery districts on each side of the Barrie Line, from MOCA Toronto to Client Roenisch and Daniel Faria Galleries.
